Why is the colour underneath still showing through?

This is poor hiding or poor opacity. Common causes include excessive thinning, spreading the paint too far, too few coats, a large colour change, an unsuitable base or primer, and uneven substrate absorption. Apply the correct film build and use the appropriate primer or tint base where required.
