Why is paint peeling off galvanised steel in sheets?

This is a delamination or adhesion failure. Galvanised steel requires careful cleaning and a compatible coating system because oils, passivation treatments and the zinc surface itself can interfere with adhesion. Remove failed coating, prepare the galvanised surface correctly and use a suitable primer or direct-to-metal system intended for galvanised steel.
