Why is paint flaking from fibre-cement boards or sheets?

Fibre-cement surfaces can be dusty, friable or highly absorbent, especially when weathered. Paint applied over loose powder will only be as strong as the weak surface beneath it. Remove contaminants and friable material, allow the substrate to dry and use the specified sealer or bonding system before topcoating.
