Why has fresh plaster changed the colour of my paint?

Fresh or damp cement plaster can remain highly alkaline. This can affect certain colours and can also contribute to coating failure if the wall is painted too soon.

Fresh or damp cement plaster can remain highly alkaline. This can affect certain colours and can also contribute to coating failure if the wall is painted too soon. Allow new plaster to cure and dry adequately, correct any moisture source, and use the appropriate alkali-resistant plaster primer or sealer before applying the finish coat.
