Why does paint blister on hot steel or a hot metal roof?

Applying paint to a very hot metal surface can cause rapid solvent or water loss, poor wetting and blistering. Allow the substrate to cool into the coating's permitted application range. Surfaces that remain hot in service may require a specialised heat-resistant coating.
