Why does a paint touch-up look different from the rest of the wall?

A touch-up can look different because the original coating has faded or weathered, the new paint is from a different batch, or the application method and texture are different. For the most uniform result, use correctly matched paint and the same application method. Where the difference remains obvious, repaint the full wall from corner to corner rather than only the small repaired area.
