Why do I get craters or small bowl-shaped holes in paint?
Craters can form when trapped air or gas escapes from a coating and the film cannot flow back before setting.
Craters can form when trapped air or gas escapes from a coating and the film cannot flow back before setting. Excessive film thickness, foaming, contamination or unsuitable application conditions can contribute. Allow the defect to dry, sand smooth, correct the cause and recoat at the recommended film build.
