How do I prepare exterior plaster walls before painting?
The surface must be clean, sound and dry.
The surface must be clean, sound and dry. Repair cracks and defects, remove loose or flaking paint and stabilise powdery or friable areas with the correct bonding liquid or plaster primer. New cement plaster, concrete and bagged walls should be primed or sealed with a compatible masonry primer before exterior topcoats are applied.
