Wash and remove as much loose chalk, dust and contamination as possible.
Wash and remove as much loose chalk, dust and contamination as possible. Allow the wall to dry, then stabilise a sound but powdery surface with the appropriate penetrating sealer or bonding liquid before applying the finish coat. Painting directly over weak chalk can cause poor adhesion.
