Filler

A particulate raw material used to add body, fill voids or modify the mechanical and application properties of a coating or repair compound. In paints the term often overlaps with extender, while in repair products it can also describe bulk mineral content. Grade, particle size, shape and surface treatment can significantly change the effect in a formulation.
