Zinc-Rich Primer
A primer containing a high level of metallic zinc intended to provide galvanic corrosion protection to steel.
A zinc-rich primer is a protective coating containing a high concentration of metallic zinc pigment. When applied to properly prepared steel, the zinc provides sacrificial or galvanic protection, meaning the zinc corrodes preferentially and helps protect the underlying steel. Zinc-rich primers are commonly used for structural steel, industrial equipment and other applications requiring high levels of corrosion protection.
