Solids by Mass

The percentage of a coating's mass remaining as non-volatile material after the volatile portion is removed under defined conditions. Mass solids are useful for manufacturing control but are not interchangeable with volume solids. The method, temperature, film thickness and conditioning should be recorded so results are comparable.
