What is A Grade/Lacquer Thinners used for?

ACRO A Grade/Lacquer Thinners is a strong, fast-evaporating solvent blend used mainly with lacquer-type and fast-drying solvent-based coatings. Typical uses include NC lacquers and other compatible industrial, automotive and wood-finishing systems.

ACRO also lists A Grade/Lacquer Thinners for general use with Quick Drying Enamels and Q.D. Primers. However, this does not mean it is the preferred thinner for those coatings. For Quick Drying Enamels and Q.D. Primers, ACRO Q.D. Enamel Thinners is specifically formulated for the job and should normally be used, particularly for spray application.

Because lacquer thinner is generally faster and more aggressive, excessive reduction or unsuitable spraying conditions can cause the coating to lose body or dry too quickly. This can contribute to poor flow, dry spray, orange peel, runs or sagging. For that reason, A Grade/Lacquer Thinners may work in Q.D. coatings, but it should not automatically be treated as the recommended thinner.

Always use the thinner specified for the particular coating system where possible.
